The St. Louis Rams canned their head coach on Monday but kept their offensive
coordinator, Josh “the hoodie” McDaniels in place. Their thinking was that would allow
the Rams’ next head man to decide whether or not to retain McD.
Now it looks like that will be a non-decision. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN,
McDaniels will immediately rejoin the New England Patriots to serve as an offensive
assistant to Bill O’Brien, the Pat’s current offensive coordinator who has been hired to
replace Joe Paterno at Penn State. It stands to reason that McDaniels will replace
O’Brien next season.
Yes, folks. The Hoodie is back – right where he belongs – standing next to the dark Lord
of the NFL, Bill Belichick. The young genius has been on mission of destruction and now
he’s ready to come home again.
It’s unusual for a coah to be added for a playoff run but McDaniels is an unusual guy.
