South Stands Denver Fancast
Producer Scott Stafford is back! And we serve up sweet show with the no guests but the usual rabble rousers you’ve come to expect.
We talk A LOT about the media tonight and the folks in the media. Do we talk about you? Probably. Gays in sports, sexism in the local media, Nuggets negativity and we mock mock drafts.
John criticizes Juggalo poetry before we do a Juggalo or Raider fan, police blotter quiz. And finally we get into some Avs talk. Good stuff, lots of laughs and we recorded this thing called a Harlem Shake video. I had never heard of it either.
ESPN Denver producer Chris Bianchi (@chrisdbianchi) joins the gang for a great show where we learn about his early years being a Colorado sports fan growing up in New York. It’s as bizarre as it sounds.
We talk some Broncos, what it’s like to be a Rockies fan in an opposing stadium…during the World Series, new media/radio and we circle back to get all over the Rockies and their woes. Some Club Level is discussed and believe it or not we get into some soccer because Chris is also the beat writer for the Rapids on MLS.com. Easy jerks, it’s good. Then John makes a huge mistake and thinks BC is the same as BU.
Check out Chris on the many shows he produces on your local ESPN affiliate (102.3 FM) including CJ and Kreckman and Les Shapiro and Tom Nalen daily on your radio dial.
A glorious return to the show by Mile High Sports Renaud Notaro (@Renknowitall) and we have a frank and often-times controversial discussion of the Rockies, Avs and homoerotic commercials. We cover a broad spectrum of topics and it’s funny, searing and complicated. Renaud is always one of our best guests and we go all out with an honest talk that includes topics like Wilson Chandler, race and Juggalos. Dig it if you dare. Probably NSFW.
Super Bowl wrap up with the boys and Zach has fart noises. We talk commercials, Ravens and the luck of Flacco. We then get in to a little Peyton Manning and his refusal to placate sore Bronco fans. John deems him a "dick".
Wild free agent pipe dreams are discussed and how Colin will post just about anything you write up. More commercials, and John goes Flacco and claims a half-retarded clown writes the Pepsi ads.
Tweep of the week, how Colin invented Golden Taint, Raider or Juggalo closes it out. Fare thee well NFL, but we’ll keep the hot sports talk flowing next week.
A hockey-riffic podcast with Avs experts Angelique Murray (@Jori5280) and Ryan Boulding (@RocksHockeyRyan). Plus Zach Sheely (@ZSheely) joins for his first stint filling in for producer Scott Stafford. We talk tons of Avs and keep it interesting so all you hockey is the “kiss of death” wankers can piss off. Colin plays an odd commercial and we talk about Zach's love for Dave Logan's McNuggets commercial.
We cover a little Ray Lewis and how Jesus wants him to succeed and how you never see the same over the top Jesus praising in hockey. We get the Fire Sacco watch going and talk to our guests about hockey bloggers and their quest for getting access to the teams they love. The Landeskog Barely Legal shirt is born and John has to justify his froot booting once again.
The Avs may suck right now, but there’s no reason to not love hockey, and we discuss how some of us are going to push Colin off the bandwagon when he decides to come back. Until then check out Angelique at her Avs prospects blog, Mile High Hockey and http://about.me/acmurray and Ryan at Mile High Sports and http://www.hockeyontherocks.com
A fiery and emotional podcast where we navigate our way through various stages of Broncos grief with Mile High Sports @dndenver and @dsnadam from Denver Sports Nation (Saturdays 2-4, AM 1510, FM 93.7).
There’s a lot of yelling, deep analysis and plenty of dick jokes. We even get in some hockey talk. If you’re only listening to one podcast this week where grown men lament the outcome of a sporting event, this is the one you want. A cathartic blend of laughs and sports analysis await you. Thanks to D and Adam who are always fun to have in.
Jennifer Eakins, the Monday Mommy (@themondaymommy) and Bleacher Report featured columnist joins us yet again for a football-riffic podcast. We talk tons and tons of Broncos and NFL playoffs. We get into the Rooney (not Mickey) Rule, and how we don't know what to write about when the Broncos are good. Plus, fat head coaches. Obese ones, not the things you hang on your wall.
We discuss BathHouseHunter.com, Colin's new website, we talk a little Nuggets and JR Smith, a little Broncos free agency and a general love fest for the Broncos and their chance for going all the way. We slap in some NHL talk and discuss some new year's resolutions. John urges Colin to resolve more conflicts, and we hatch a plan to get Les Shapiro on our side. Tweep of the Week and having to sit through wrestling VHS tapes while trying to score weed. Go Bruncos.
A chill yet argumentative show with our pal and picks leader, Snyder (@madgamecc69).
Snyder is usual right when it comes to his Bruncos predictions and you’ll never believe what he has to say about where the team will end up when the playoffs start.
We talk some Monforts/Bohn, some Instagram, a tweep of the week and we generally get you pumped up for Christmas/Bruncos playoff football. Happy Holidaze.
Wow. A freaking fantastic show with actual psychologist Dr. Travis Heath. Dr. Heath (@DrTravisHeath) is one smart dude, he’s co-host The Renknowitall with Renaud Notaro on Mile High Sports (Mon-Fri, 6pm-8pm 93.7 FM) and he unwittingly psychoanalyzes the boys who, as you know have a host of mental health issues.
The psychology of the Zombie Apocalypse is discussed, the mental impact of being on social media is brought up, and then we get deep into the Nuggets and Carmelo Anthony. It's sobering.
A good Broncos discussion finally breaks out and some controversial things are said about Peyton Manning. There's a Name that Tweep: Denver Nuggets edition and someone wins a shirt from 5280 Shirtshop. Then Colin asks a question and we do about 15 more minutes on guns and a great discussion on concussions finishes it up. It's gripping, fantastic podcast and you’re gonna love it. Check out the good doctor on Mile High Sports, Hoops World and USA Today.
A groovy new show with the incomparable Woody Roseland (@WoodyRoseland). He may have been born in the 90's but he’s kicking cancer's ass and talking Broncos, Rockies and Von Miller with us.
We talk CU and not about what a mess it is but the media reaction and the strange lack of objectivity displayed. Followed by "Just what is Colin Kaepernick?"
We get deep into the Broncos/Chiefs game and how Colin, Scott and last week's guest Ian Henson were just flat out wrong. John was right.
Woody tells the famous story about how he played catch with Jeremy Guthrie, teaching Von Miller a sack dance and his fake Australian accent he used while doing a CNN interview. "Oy checked ma Twittah"
What would a 70 year old Jimi Hendrix look like? Not good. We try to sell Woody on teaching Von Miller the "beat off in the QB's face” dance. He doesn't think it’s a good idea. Tweep of the Week. Raider or Juggalo and Woody kicks off a quick version of "There I said it." We address controversies that don't involve us.
Woody has been through a lot but he's got a great attitude and is a pretty inspirational dude so check him out on Twitter and his website at http://woodyroseland.com/
