Denver Nuggets front office says team not a contender, yet George Karl keeps job
Did George Karl deserve another vote of confidence and the chance to coach the Nuggets for one more year?
Curious George Continues To Learn He's Not a Playoff Coach
"Call him Curious George, because he's continually searching for a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."
Don't get your hopes up, Denver Nuggets fan
Evan Fournier emerges, and none too soon
"Miller, for all his veteran savvy, can be a liability on both ends of the floor. The 37 year old slows down the speedy Nuggets, which often derails George Karl’s game script.
More minutes for Fournier means fewer minutes for Miller, who at this point in his career is more effective in a limited role."

Nuggets can’t spell “victory” without “Ty”
"What is a cause for real concern is that the Nuggets aren’t as deep as they have been advertised to be. They may have a nine-man rotation, but without their starting point guard they’re eminently beatable. "

DON’T STOP BELIEVING: How the Denver Nuggets Are Changing the NBA
"The wonderful thing about sports is that anything can happen. Denver has been spoiled by the most unlikely of playoff runs in recent years – examples: Rocktober and Tebow Magic. And this year’s Nuggets squad seems poised to execute their playoff demons of past years and make a run."

The Nuggets finally gave fans closure over Carmelo.
"Carmelo got just we he wanted. His wife did, too. They got the exposure and the big city lights. We got a better team. It’s not such a bad deal after all."

Wilson Chandler's eleven days are almost up
Eleven days ago Wilson Chandler Tweeted "11 days". He was referring, of course to today's NBA trade deadline, the date by which the reluctant Nugget hopes to have found a new hope. The clock is ticking and the rumors are swirling but still nothing has taken place. Chandler remains shackled to his situation in Denver.
While it's not up to him whether or not he is dealt today, it's best that he be gone. The Nuggets don't need a guy who hates being here skulking about the locker room pissing and moaning about minutes. The Nuggets should find a package that works, sending off Chandler and Timofey Mozgov as well. Perhaps they won't find a pot of gold but they don't need these guys in the rotation right now. Best to build for the future if not improve right now.
Besides, after all he's done for the Nuggets organization, doesn't Chandler deserve to be somewhere where he can start - like Charlotte, for example? Or maybe Washington? Perhaps a team in China would be interested in him. Chandler seemed happier playing there.
Ujuri speaks softly but carries a big stick
"Masia Ujuri has shown that, when it comes to trade negotiations, he speaks softly but carries a big stick. The Nuggets have pulled the trigger before on deals that never, ever saw the light of day until after they were done"

Can Benjamin Hochman save newspapers?
"Today it’s all about eyeballs and earbuds. How many people will ingest your sponsor’s message how many times per day? New media is instantaneous, interactive, mobile and increasingly social. Few people understand this in the way Benjamin Hochman does. He is everywhere."

I never really liked sports until I had a religious conversion when the Broncos lost to the 49ers in that one Super Bowl. Now I'm obsessed with all aspects of the Denver pro sports world. Oh yeah, I hate college football. It's crap. Talk to me on twitter @johnreidydenverRecent items
