We've never hidden our man-crush on Cecil Lammey. The guy is an absolute workhorse. We first discovered Cecil on his podcast, the Audible from the top fantasy site, FootballGuys.com which posts several times a week all year 'round. During the "playing season", Cecil and his partner, Sigmund Bloom, start the week with the Waiver wire show on Tuesdays, follow that with two weekly fantasy preview shows on Wednesdays and Thursdays, a two-hour mega-show called the Audible! Live! on Thursdays and two hours worth of recaps on Sunday Nights - after the final Sunday game is over.
Cecil wraps up work on the recap shows on Sunday nights at around 11pm. Prior to that, he hosts "Gametime Decision" on the Ticket from 9-11 am every Sunday and the "No BS Broncos Post-game Show" following every Broncos game. That's 14 hours of non-stop football talk.
Of course, Cecil also pens a column for the Denver Post each week and another that appears on the New York Times web site. Yes, the NEW YORK TIMES! All this while filling in for every host that gets a case of the sniffles over at the radio station. The man is possessed.
In addition to all of that, Cecil makes time to help people like us and our pal, Dario in Denver, get a foothold in radio and podcasting. Cecil gives back. He's one of the friendliest people you'll meet.
Now our guy has motor-boated his way into a premium time slot and a daily broadcast, Ridin' Shotgun, every day at 102.3 the Ticket. It's a well-earned promotion for Cecil and only the first of what we expect will be many. Beginning January 1, 2012, the Ticket will become an ESPN affiliate. That will give Cecil a higher career ceiling than ever. He's far better than several of the NFL insiders at the four-letter network and, as beloved as he is in Colorado, we hope to see him shine on a National level soon. ESPN has already reached down to snag former Fox 31 Sports Chick, Josina Anderson from the Denver market. We would be surprised if Cecil isn't next.
Love that guy.
