According to reports, Peyton Manning reached out to Butch Jones and encouraged him to accept the head coaching position at the University of Colorado. But did Manning's support for Jones serve to encourage the folks at Tennessee to take another look at him for their vacant position, instead?

Peyton Manning is Tennessee's golden boy, after all, having starred at quarterback there back in the 1990's. Maybe the interest he showed in Jones piqued the Volunteers' interest.

The School will hold a press conference today annoucing that they hired Butch Jones and introducing him to their fans ... in the Peyton Manning locker room on the UT campus. You really can't make this stuff up.
