In today's Denver Post columnist, Mark Kiszla, ever the scamp, boldly suggested that John Fox and Jack Del Rio should consider scrapping their defensive system.
His column is headlined: "Broncos can fix dents in their defense with 3-4 alignment". The current scheme, plotted by the Broncos' brain trust, is a 4-3. But Kiszla feels that thier defensive players are better suited to do things his way.
In his piece he asserts: "The Broncos' defense is fundamentally and fatally flawed. The good news: It can be fixed, if coach John Fox is willing to think outside the box"
John Fox would probably like to place the meddling Kiszla inside a box and leave him there until the season is over. At Dove Valley's version of "Meet the Press" today, Fox said to Kiszla:"Did Vince Lombardi come back and write that?"
Fun stuff. We don't know much but we know that NFL head coaches probably get a bit prickly when them journalist types try telling them how to do their jobs. Huge thanks to @maxbroncos for snagging the audio.
