The Rockies' "Purple Monday" campaign, intended to stir the passions of fans, to whom the 2012 season was dedicated (the year of the fan), becomes more ridicuous by the week.

I got an e-mail from the team today, as I do every Monday, encouraging me to don my purple in honor of the Rockies.

Uh, no.

You would think that the worst team in baseball would pull the plug on Purple Mondays. It's embarassing. All it does is remind everyone how bad they are. Does anybody hear the phrase "purple Monday" and rush back to the closet to grab a Tulo jersey?

Probably not.
