Unofficial Nuggets personel man, Bret Bearup, has been relieved of duties by the team accoring to a report from Yahoo Sports. Bearup is only the latest basketball operations man let go by the team, joining Rex Chapman, Mark Warkentien and Greg Knight.
According to the Yahoo piece:
"Bearup had been a strong proponent of trading Carmelo Anthony in a proposed multi-team deal that would have brought back a package centered around New Jersey Nets rookie forward Derrick Favors."
The article goes on the say:
"With Bearup now out, the Nuggets will likely continue to be patient as they assess what to do with Anthony."
It's unclear whether Bearup's urgency in attempting to trade 'Melo lead to his ouster but one would suppose so. It appears as though General Manager Masai Ujiri prefers to convince the superstar to stick around.
